Circle Ranch’s Inaugural Young Artisan Market

Circle Ranch is hosting its inaugural Young Artisan Market, and we are pleased to invite your student to participate.

The Market will be held on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Farmview Market Pavilion in Madison, GA. Students are asked to make their own products to sell, and they will keep all their earnings.

The purpose of the market is to raise awareness of Circle Ranch within our community and offers an entrepreneurial opportunity for the students to show off their skills and talents.

All applications must be submitted with a picture of what the student intends to make and sell. This picture can be copied from something they found online or a picture of a product they have already made. Because spaces are limited to only 50, the first 50 applications we receive back via email will be accepted. The Jazz Legacy Project: Cannonball Adderley

Known as the “Country Preacher,” this Florida school teacher turned into a jazz icon after he gave NYC a try. From Miles Davis to Nancy Wilson to his own Gospel-infused bands with his brother Nat, Adderley brought the church to the stage and embodied the soul of jazz.

Each program is roughly 90 minutes, with the goal of bringing the casual jazz listener inside the minds and music of the most influential and interesting American musicians of all time. The life and music of the artist/composer is entertainingly narrated by the drummer, Mr. Justin Varnes, and seminal jazz pieces are played to illuminate the narration.

These are NOT tribute concerts in the sense that the musicians are trying to recreate the original performances, but instead to celebrate the essence and accomplishments of the particular artist.

One Night in Memphis at The Plaza Arts Center

One Night in Memphis set to rock The Plaza stage on Thursday, March 2nd at 7:00pm

Let’s travel back to Dec. 4, 1956. You may be thinking — what in the world happened on that date? I can’t remember anything. Dec. 4, 1956 went down in history as the night that stardom was born.

Four early rockers — Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash — gathered at Sun Studios in Memphis for a jam session that ultimately gave these stars the name ‘the million dollar quartet.’

Luckily for you, you can relive that evening at The Plaza Arts Center in March.

‘One Night in Memphis’ is a show dedicated to some of the most famous musicians in American history. This tribute to that memorable night in Memphis when Presley, Cash, Perkins and Lewis recorded at Sam Phillips' Sun Studios features nationally acclaimed cast members who have an uncanny sound, look and feel of the original legends.

‘One Night in Memphis’ is family-friendly as music truly knows no age. This highly acclaimed production will be one for the books. The show gets off to a rocking start with Carl Perkins performing hits like “Honey Don’t,” “Brown-Eyed Handsome Man,” and “Blue Suede Shoes,” while offering up anecdotes about life as a sharecroppers’ son and his musical influences.  Midway through his set, Carl invites session musician Jerry Lee Lewis to join him and Lewis seizes the opportunity to front the band and lead the audience on a musical journey from New Orleans to Nashville and eventually into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.  As Jerry puts the finishing touches on a set which includes “High School Confidential”, “Breathless, “Whole Lotta Shaking Goin' On,” and “Great Balls of Fire,” the audience will have an opportunity to catch their breath as Johnny Cash is welcomed to the stage with his signature “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.” And then the musical journey through Cash’s timeless catalog begins – including smash hits like “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” and “I Walk the Line.”  Next up…Elvis Presley, who electrifies the audience and transports them back to his beginnings where he went from driving a truck to delivering eleven #1 hits between 1956 -1959.  Hits like “Shake, Rattle & Roll” to “All Shook Up,”  “Heartbreak Hotel,”  “Don’t be Cruel,”  and “Hound Dog,” all according to the show’s description.

Whether you like one or like them all, this is a show for everyone. This group will have the audience dancing and singing along as we take a step back to 1956.

As part of The Plaza’s 15th anniversary celebration, this show is top notch entertainment right in your backyard. Come experience The Plaza and a night you will remember for years to come.

One Night in Memphis will be live on The Plaza stage March 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now online at plazacenter.org.
