A permanent exhibit honoring an exceptionally talented family deeply rooted in agriculture and the arts of Morgan County.
Check out the MMCC’s newest permanent exhibition “The Andrews Family Legacy: Rooted in the Agriculture and Arts of Morgan County.” The exhibition showcases the artistic and literary contributions of members of the Andrews Family, including artist George ‘Dot Man’ Andrews, his wife Viola and their sons, artist and activist Benny and noted author, Raymond.
The Grand Opening of this exhibition was a big success. Please call the Center at (706) - 342- 4743 for special viewings and field trips, if you prefer.

Joe Gransden Big Band Christmas
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?
If Joe Gransden is playing it, we are for sure! The crooner along with his triumpant big band bring an energy that is reminiscent of the Frank Sinatra era. His magical voice along with the upbeat sounds from his trumpet make this a show that is one for the ages.
At 42 Years old, Joe Gransden has already performed worldwide and released 14 CDs under his own name. Renowned first for the hard bop approach of his trumpet, Gransden’s singing voice has been compared to that of Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.
“Music has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember,” says Gransden. “I can remember practicing with my father, and eventually him taking me along to sit in at jam sessions. Early on I developed a respect for individuals like my father whose lives revolved around music. While still in high school, I knew that music was the life I would choose.”
The legendary Smokey Robinson said about Gransden “Joe has an innate ability to connect with an audience. His singing and trumpet playing are world class, throw in the 16 piece big band and you have something very special!”
According to his Gransden’s website, The Joe Gransden 16 Piece Big Band is quickly
becoming one of the busiest groups on the jazz scene. Originally formed in 2009, Gransden and the band have continued to build momentum and are performing numerous shows around the country. "The Big Band truly has its own sound and really swings!" says Gransden, “...These guys are the best!”
With the holidays comes the feeling of nostalgia and love and Gransden’s familiar take on the Christmas classics make his show perfect for the entire family.

Community Holiday Concert at Madison-Morgan Cultural Center
Join the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center for their Annual Community Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 10 at 3:00pm. Experience the joy of the holiday season with performances from talented members of our community.
Don't miss out on the chance to see sugar plums dancing, angels singing, and silver (TUBA) bells! There is no cost for admission, but they do ask that you pick up your tickets in advance from the Cultural Center.
Additionally, they encourage you to bring canned goods to donate to the Caring Place. Tickets will be available for pick-up starting in early November, with a limit of 6 per person.
Winter Solstice Prayer Service at The Greensboro Episcopal Church of the Redeemer
The Greensboro Episcopal Church of the Redeemer is providing support for those in their community who may not be feeling joyful during the Christmas season. Recognizing that some individuals have recently experienced loss or are dealing with chronic depression, the church is hosting a "Blue Christmas" prayer service on December 21st.
The service, which will take place at noon in the Redeemer sanctuary, aims to provide a safe space for participants to bring their grief, depression, and loss and offer them to God for healing. Through prayer, readings, candlelight, and music, attendees will be reminded of God's love and faithfulness while also honoring and expressing their sadness.
The church is extending their invitation beyond their congregation, encouraging community members to invite friends or neighbors who may be going through a difficult time in December. Everyone is welcome to attend.
