The Plaza Arts Center is excited to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2023 with a variety of events and performances planned for the Lake Country. Their mission to bring arts education to local youth remains a top priority, and they are asking for the community's help in achieving this goal.
To support this mission, the Plaza Arts Center has launched the 15 for 15 campaign. By donating just $15 a month for 15 months, members of the community can make a significant impact on the Plaza's programs and initiatives.
Every $15 counts - it can provide snacks for the After School Arts Program, props for a play, or a field trip for a school group to attend a performance. Together, the community can make an even bigger impact.
To join the 15 for 15 campaign, individuals can visit plazacenter.org and navigate to the donations page. Select "recurring monthly donation" and enter $15 for the amount. For those who prefer to make a lump sum donation, they can enter $225 and select the 15 for 15 campaign.

The Doo Wop Project at The Plaza Arts Center

The Doo Wop Project will take The Plaza's audience on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to “DooWopified” versions of modern songs originally performed by mega-watt artists like Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5 – even Garth Brooks!

Cavalcade of Stars - Joni Mabe at Madison-Morgan Cultural Center
“Cavalcade of Stars” on exhibition at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center from November 11, 2022 - January 28, 2023.
Joni Mabe is the creator of Everything Elvis at the Loudermilk Boarding House Museum in Cornelia, Georgia. Mabe began making Elvis inspired work in 1977. She also began acquiring Elvis-related memorabilia and purported relics of the King and eventually based her graduate show around this burgeoning collection of artworks and carefully selected objects.
For the Madison Morgan Cultural Center, she will be presenting a group of her glitter mosaics. These portraits feature Elvis Presley, Otis Redding, Ty Cobb, Steve McQueen, P.T. Barnum and other luminaries of the entertainment world—a true Cavalcade of Stars.

8th Annual "Do Tell" Storytelling Festival
The 8th Annual “Do Tell” Storytelling Festival will be returning to the Cultural Center this year! If you like a good story with a side of laughter, plan to join us on Saturday, February 4th in the MMCC Auditorium.
This year’s Storytelling Festival will feature the talents of Carol Cain, our Emcee, Antonio Rocha, and Andy Offutt Irwin. These tellers will be bringing their comical and heart-warming tales that will bring joy to your soul.
