Good morning!
October has a way of filling up your calendar fast, and this week is a good example. Octoberfest at Harmony Crossing, a Wellness Block Party to kickstart your holiday season, a meet-the-author morning at Lake Country Books, Rhythm & Brews next Friday, and trick-or-treating in downtown Greensboro are all on the list.
This weekβs LO Down is built to make the busy part easier. Cafe 44 is cooking dinner Thursday through Saturday, so all you have to do is call and pick it up. Weβve also rounded up a few local deals that end October 31, plus some trusted resources for the kids and the pets in your family.
Grab a pen and mark up the fridge calendar.
Thanks for reading, and for supporting the businesses that make this place home.

October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Is Your Mammogram on the Calendar?
A mammogram is a low-dose X-ray that can spot changes in breast tissue early, often before you can feel anything. St. Maryβs offers both digital and 3D mammography. The 3D version takes images from several angles to give radiologists a more detailed, layered view. The visit itself takes about 20 minutes, thereβs no recovery time, and most patients hear their results within a few days.
St. Maryβs guidance is that most women begin annual screenings at 40, sooner if family or personal history calls for it. Your provider can help you decide what schedule fits you.
So consider this email your reminder. If you havenβt gotten your 2026 mammogram yet, today is a great day to call and schedule it.

Welcome Georgia Docks & Seawalls
Brent Wilson was 15 when he started building docks and seawalls alongside family, and 17 when he went out on his own. Lake Oconee is his home lake, and weβre glad to welcome him as our newest Featured Partner.
Brentβs crew does the work the careful way. Seawalls are dug and built by hand, so your yard stays in one piece, and old docks come out by barge. He replaces seawalls and adds rip rap, builds docks with composite decking, and handles the Georgia Power permitting for you. New docks and seawalls come with a 5-year labor warranty.
October special: Any job Brent bids this month gets $10 off per foot of seawall, or 10% off a new dock. On a 200-foot seawall, thatβs $2,000 back in your pocket. His calendar is already filling into December, so if a project is on your list, now is the time to call, (706) 817-0588.
