The Jazz Legacy Project: Weather Report — Festival Hall's Season Finale
Festival Hall closes out its 2026 Jazz Legacy Series on Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 PM with a night dedicated to Weather Report, the fusion supergroup that helped rewrite what jazz could sound like. Think Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, and Joe Zawinul blending jazz, funk, rock, and blues into hits like "Birdland" and "Teen Town."
This isn't a tribute act trying to recreate the originals note for note. Drummer Justin Varnes narrates the story behind the music, weaving in live performances of the era's most influential pieces, so even casual jazz fans walk away with a real feel for what made these musicians so groundbreaking. Each show runs about 90 minutes.
It's the final program in this year's series, with the 2027 lineup expected to be announced soon, so this is your last shot at the Jazz Legacy Project until next year.
