Independence Day is almost here, and we have made it easy to plan the perfect holiday weekend. From fireworks shows you can watch by land or by boat, to campgrounds, sweet treats, and festive finds for your gathering, this guide rounds up everything you need to celebrate at the lake.

This week we are highlighting a treasure hunt that turns all of downtown Greensboro into a playground. The Liberty & Local Scavenger Hunt kicks off a ten day celebration of America's 250th birthday, running July 1 through July 10, and it is unlike anything we have seen at the lake before. Organizers are hiding 25 pieces of tiny magnetic art throughout downtown Greensboro every single day, adding up to 250 unique pieces by the time it wraps up.

Here is how it works: daily clues drop through Dock 103.9 and the Downtown Greensboro Facebook and Instagram pages, and from there it is up to you to explore, search, and see what you can find. Along the way, you will pass by the local shops and restaurants that make downtown Greensboro special, all dressed up in patriotic red, white, and blue for the occasion.
